How to apply toppers like a baker
The same premium edible images used directly on buttercream cakes — the key is the right icing and application method for a beautiful long-term finish.

Ice with American buttercream
For buttercream cookies, use American buttercream — its higher sugar content forms a light crust that protects your topper.

Let it crust first
Allow the buttercream to crust before placing the edible image on top. This prevents moisture from gradually migrating into the topper if cookies sit for an extended period.

Peel, place & smooth
Peel the topper from its backing, centre it on the cookie and press gently from the middle out. On royal icing, apply while wet; on fondant, use a light brush of water.
